Limyra Bridge – One of the Oldest Bridges in the World
Kirkgöz Arch, which was called the Limyra Bridge in Roman times, is one of the oldest bridges in the world. It is located within the borders of Hasyurt Neighborhood, which is connected to the Finike district of Antalya province. It is built on the ancient Limyra Alakir brook. The bridge, which has a length of 360 meters, has the feature of a stone bridge.
The bridge, which consists of 26 arches, has a very flat appearance thanks to these arches. Although the bridge is seen as very important thanks to this appearance, the bridge is little known in Turkey.
There is not much information about the bridge in Antiquity. If you are interested in ancient historical buildings, you can visit this bridge. You can also visit the Limyra Ancient City Theatre, which is very close to the bridge.
